A Noodle Bowl Drawn in Light
Good Alley opens from a stucco arcade into a long, low dining room where the ceiling does most of the talking. Dark timber battens run the length of the space, and beneath them clusters of woven rattan pendants hang at staggered heights, warm and slightly irregular, like lanterns gathered over a market lane. Along the perimeter, a sculpted relief of stacked waves wraps the wall in brushed champagne and ivory, settling at its center into a backlit noodle bowl that becomes the room's emblem.
Ink Landscapes in a Timber Frame
Deeper in, the plan breaks into intimate bays. Channel-tufted banquettes in pale greige line the walls, and round tables gather larger parties beneath fabric drum pendants. Pilasters in walnut-toned veneer carry a column of carved cloud medallions, and between them, frames of light oak hold Chinese ink-wash landscapes, each panel washed from below by a continuous cove of warm light.
